The Lake George Power Squadron participated in the Lock 7-12 Canalfest Boat Parade on Saturday, July 12th, 2008
aboard P/C John Jermano's vessel Caprice, a Pilgrim 40 trawler. The multi-event Canalfest is presented
annually by the Schenectady and Montgomery Chambers of Commerce. Approximately 25 decorated boats paraded
from the Schenectady Yacht Club in Rexford, Saratoga County to Jumpin' Jack's in Scotia, Schenectady County.
The Caprice, proudly flying the banner of the Squadron, won first prize for best decorated boat in the category
of 39' or greater in length. P/C Jermano presented the $150 cash prize to Commander Joan Londynsky at a recent
Bridge meeting. Accompanying John during the parade from the squadron were his daughter, Sarah Schmitz,
P/C Kevin McCarthy and his wife Mary, and Treasurer Max Gollmer.
