LGPS   Lake George Chart

Since 1948 the Lake George Power Squadron has made available to the public a highly detailed chart of Lake George. The chart is printed on four pages of heavy waterproof stock, each measuring 17 x 21 inches. Included with the chart is a clear plastic tube, with end caps, for storage and protection. The tube also floats, preventing loss should the chart accidentally be dropped overboard.

The advantage of this chart over others lies in the numerous water depth indications. Rocks, shoals, and other obstructions are clearly marked. Water depth contour lines are shown for the shoreline and other obstructions. Islands are labeled as public or private, and public docks are shown. The chart shows the locations of all marinas on the lake, with a list of services available at each marina. Most areas of the chart are scaled at 2 3/4 inches per statute mile.
Inset on page two is a large scale chart covering the narrows of Lake George. This area is scaled at approximately 5 1/2 inches per mile for a detailed view of the numerous bouys, islands, and obstructions. Range lines are shown in this area.
The LGPS Lake George Chart is available at marinas and bookstores throughout the Lake George, Saratoga, and Capital District areas.
